THE PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS CONTENT AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY OF SOME MEDICINAL PLANTS

نویسندگان

چکیده

In the present study, infusions from six medicinal plants have been evaluated in terms of their polyphenols content and antioxidant activity. The selected for this study are following: elder (Sambucusnigra), chamomile (Chamomillaegermanicaeflos), sage (Salvia officinale), mistletoe (Viscum album), lemon balm (Melissa oficinalis), lavender (Lavandula angustifolia). investigated samples show a wide variation values obtained both capacity total phenolic compounds. compounds vary between 87.93 μg gallic acid equivalent/mL (mistletoe) 984.33 (chamomile) increase order < <elder balm. All high activity against DPPH radical. results indicate highest 1.05 14.63 μM Trolox equivalent /mL infusion decrease order: balm, sage, lavender, elder, chamomile, mistletoe. these can explain use therapy many disease.
